Labor Day weekend isn’t over yet, and there’s already plenty happening across North Fulton heading into next weekend.
From barbecue at Avalon and a toddler dance party in Roswell to a September 11 remembrance in Johns Creek, outdoor music and Milton’s Touch-a-Truck, here are some of the local events worth knowing about this week.
This is part of BBDN’s What’s Happening?, our curated guide to events, festivals and community happenings around Alpharetta, Roswell, Johns Creek, Milton and the surrounding North Fulton area.
TODAY: Labor Day Pig Out at Avalon

Sunday, September 6 | 5-8 PM
Palmer Plaza at Avalon | Alpharetta
If your Labor Day weekend needs more barbecue, Avalon has you covered.
The 10th Annual Labor Day Pig Out brings together the culinary teams from Oak and Colletta for an all-you-can-eat barbecue event featuring whole hog BBQ, ribs, smoked salmon, turkey, chicken, Southern sides and desserts. There will also be live music, with proceeds supporting The Giving Kitchen.
Tickets are listed at $50 for adults and $25 for children ages 6-12, with higher day-of-event pricing.
TODAY: Tiny Ravers in Roswell

Sunday, September 6 | 3-5 PM
We Rock the Spectrum Kids Gym Atlanta | Roswell
Parents with younger kids have a very different Sunday option. Tiny Ravers Glow and Groove is a toddler-focused DJ dance party for ages 1-5, with DJ beats, glow lights, bubbles and dancing in a sensory-safe gym. Admission is listed at $25 per child.
FRIDAY: Johns Creek Patriot Day

Friday, September 11 | 8:30 AM
Mark Burkhalter Amphitheater at Newtown Park | Johns Creek
Johns Creek will hold its Patriot Day commemoration Friday morning at Newtown Park. The timing carries additional significance in 2026, which marks 25 years since the September 11 attacks.
This is one we’ll treat differently from normal event coverage. No hype. Just the information residents need if they want to attend and remember.
SATURDAY: Milton Touch-a-Truck

Saturday, September 12 | 10 AM-1 PM
Stonecreek Church | Milton
This may be the best family event on next weekend’s schedule. Milton’s free Touch-a-Truck gives kids a chance to get up close to large trucks, heavy equipment and specialty vehicles. The event also includes food, live music and inflatables.
One especially useful detail for families: Milton is offering a sensory-friendly hour from 9-10 AM, before the main event begins.
Going? Check the official attendee map and parking information before you leave. The City’s event page includes the attendee packet, truck and food locations, and parking information, including shuttle pickup from Kings Ridge Christian School.
SATURDAY NIGHT: Live Music at Johns Creek Town Center

Saturday, September 12 | 6-10 PM
The Boardwalk at Town Center | Johns Creek
Johns Creek’s summer concert series moves into The Boardwalk at Town Center Saturday night with Nashville Nation. Everyday Dogs, the city’s Battle of the Bands winner, is scheduled to open.
Guests can bring blankets and lawn chairs. Seating is first come, first served, beer and wine will be available for purchase, outside alcohol is prohibited and pop-up tents are not permitted. The concert is listed as rain or shine.
This is also an interesting BBDN crossover. We’ve been following the larger Johns Creek Town Center story for months. Events like this are where all of that planning starts becoming something residents actually use, rather than simply another development plan.
More is coming
Those are not every event happening in North Fulton this week. That is intentional.
BBDN What’s Happening? is not supposed to be another giant calendar. We’re looking for the events that are actually useful, interesting, family-friendly, locally significant or likely to affect where people are going.
Our permanent North Fulton Events Guide will continue tracking events in Alpharetta, Roswell, Johns Creek, Milton, and Cumming/Forsyth when an event warrants inclusion. We’ll also flag major festivals, holiday events, parking and road-closure information, public openings and other things you probably want to know before you find out about them from somebody else’s Instagram Story.

The guide is updated as useful events and logistics are verified.
Have a major North Fulton event we should know about? Send it our way. Inclusion isn’t automatic. We verify events before featuring them.
